It has been a little bit more than a week, and, what have I done so far?
Well so far, I have pitched dis-ABLE to potential client who might be interested in making a small donation to the project. Besides that it has been only about the research into the project. I have researched further into possible charitable organisations who I would like to form a collaboration with. Upon research, I would like to collaborate with 'Disability Rights UK' 'SCOPE' as well as 'Art Shape'. These are amazing the charitable organisation with years of experience in helping people in need and with resources to accommodate their needs.
Before that happens, I need to have a Producer on board for the project, and due to the nature of student filmmaking and micro-budget filmmaking it is extremely difficult to find a producer that you trust. I will have a producer on board by January, because people are undecided during the holidays, as most of us are focused on only two things: food and presents.
On the other hand, along with the script, I have worked on a poem which I would like to include in this film. This will be done in first person narrative from the protagonist (Maya) from her younger self to her present age.
The poem might change slightly, as the script changes.
I've heard that the sky is different where you are now
It's a bit more violet than blue
It's a bit more brighter than grey
It's a bit more vast than unseen
It's a bit more like you
What you used to be.
That cold violet sky sometimes visits me
Beholds me to ignite me
To show me a way
My mind so foolish
And my body so shrivel
It won't let the heart tare away your memories
So it shares the pain
To hurt me every now and then.
So foolish, I know and I laughed too
You loved me at the some point, didn't know the conditions were true.
'You are beautiful Maya...stay beautiful'
Was the only dictated compliment you offered me
What happens when I grow old?
Was a question that haunted me so tenderly.
I am a final year BA (Hons) Film student who is enthusiastic and passionate about filmmaking and consuming them too.
A short film project which I directed earlier this year.
It deals with themes of: rape, suicide and religion.
The link for the trailer is below and the film will be published in December.
